How Do I Know if Therapy is Right for Me?

Deciding to reach out for extra support can be challenging in the best of times. Reaching out when you are struggling can be exceptionally difficult.  For many, a sense of shame and vulnerability can accompany making that realisation that maybe we need a little or alot of extra help as we face the challenges of life.

Taking the step to reach out is courageous and is the first step in starting to show up for yourself because you deserve to feel well.

Will my insurance cover therapy?

Registered Psychotherapy is  covered by some plans.

It would be a good idea to look into your insurance coverage or speak with your employer for further details regarding what, and how much may be covered.

Though many insurance companies cover therapy and counselling services, not all insurance coverage is created equal.

In seeking a private practitioner that fits your needs is most important.  Therapy takes commitment and connecting with therapy is a commitment to your well being.  You are worth it!

How long are the sessions and how often will I need to attend?

The sessions are 50 minutes in length.

Depending on your therapeutic needs and goals you may need to attend weekly to bi-weekly.  This will be discussed during the initial session in collaboration to find best fit. This can be discussed and revisited at any time during the process of therapy. As progress is gained and needs change, the frequency can reduce to monthly appointments.

Will I have to wait to start therapy?

One advantage of seeking therapy through private practice means very little wait time.  It takes courage to reach out for support and that is valued and important. Let’s connect to find a time that works for you.
